Energy Reporting Health & Issues

Once we have established energy access, how does the customer know we still have it?

Most systems send production data to RECmint automatically every month so we can mint your SRECs (Solar Renewable Energy Certificates). If that connection breaks, we'll email you about a connectivity or reporting issue. If your system reports by email instead, you send us the reading each month. Setting up energy access in the first place is a separate step.

How to tell your production data is reaching us

Your energy reporting is typically healthy if all of these are true:

  1. You haven't received emails from [email protected] or [email protected] about production data or reporting issues, and

  2. You can see production data for the most recent months in your RECmint portal on the "View Production, SRECs, & Payments" page. That page appears before there is anything on it — production shows up once we make our first submission to the registry, so an empty page early on is normal, and

  3. You can see production reporting in your own monitoring site.

If you get an email from us about a connectivity or reporting issue

If RECmint emails you about a connectivity or reporting issue with your production data, follow these steps:

  1. First, check that your system is back on your WiFi. A system that has dropped off the network is the most common reason reporting stops when nothing is wrong with the panels.

  2. Then check whether you can see production reporting in your own monitoring site.

  3. If you can see it there, contact our team and let us know (see our contact details for how to reach us).

  4. If you can't see it there, work with your installer or our team to troubleshoot the connection.

Once we receive your production data again, we stop sending reporting-issue emails.

How we handle reporting issues

At the start of each month, when we go to mint your SRECs (Solar Renewable Energy Certificates), we gather your production data.

  • If we can't gather it because of a connectivity or reporting issue, we'll email you.

  • We keep checking every few days for updated reporting.

  • Once we receive the data, we stop emailing. If we still don't receive it, we'll keep emailing until it's resolved.

  • After your system is back online, it can take a few days before we start receiving reporting again — this is normal.
