Troubleshooting Specific Signup Steps

Forms you may need to sign

Depending on your situation, you may be asked to sign one or more of these:

  • A form that lets us register your system and manage your SRECs. Our region's SREC registry requires it from whoever owns the system. If your system is leased, on a PPA, or owned by a company, that owner signs it rather than you.

  • A contract for a payout option, if you choose one beyond the default — we'll walk you through the options.

  • A transfer form, if you're moving to us from another aggregator.

  • An ownership transfer form, if the owner listed on an existing SREC registration needs to be updated.

Trouble signing a form

Most signing problems are about how to draw your signature. Start here:

  1. Not sure how to sign. Sign in the red-outlined box at the bottom of the form. - On a computer: click into the box, hold the mouse button, and drag to draw your signature, like using a pen. - On a touchscreen: tap into the box and sign with your finger — many people find this easier than a mouse.

  2. Signed, but "Save and Submit" won't click. Add a small dot or period at the end of your signature — this usually enables the button.

  3. Still stuck. It may be a technical issue. Contact our team and we'll help.

Information we'll ask for

  • System address. If your mailing address is different from where the system is installed, give us the physical address of the system — that's what goes on your registration and stays on file for your account.

  • Legal owner. Whoever is listed as the owner of the system is who appears on the SREC registration. If a couple owns the system together, you can choose to list both of you as joint owners.

  • Interconnection document, if your state requires one before we can register your system. Interconnection Documents explains what it is and how to get a copy.

This isn't always the full list. Depending on your situation we may also ask for other registration paperwork (we'll check with your installer first when we can), help you set up energy data access so we can read your production, and collect your payment details for direct deposit.

Your system details

When we ask for your system details, the easiest way to give us what we need is a copy of your plan set (sometimes called the building set, drawing set, or post-installation document). We usually ask everyone for a copy, even where your state doesn't require one. It confirms details we'd otherwise have to chase. We're looking for:

  • Your system size in kW DC and AC. If you have everything else, you can find kW DC by multiplying the number of panels by their wattage and dividing by 1,000 (10 panels × 400 W ÷ 1,000 = 4 kW DC).

  • The number of panels and their wattage.

  • The number of arrays, and for each array the number of panels plus its tilt and azimuth.

Your installer can usually provide your plan set if they're still in business. If you can read it but aren't sure how to pull these numbers, send it to us and we'll fill them in. If you can't get a plan set at all — and your registration doesn't require one — we can often work from your energy-monitoring account or from straight-on photos of your roof that show the panel angles.
