Ways to sign up with RECmint
Your installer referred you.
A friend or neighbor referred you through our "Refer a Friend" program.
You signed up directly on our website.
You received something from us in the mail.
If you received a specific link or code, always use it. It usually speeds up your signup and makes sure anyone who referred you gets credit. If you don't have a link, you can start here: app.recmint.com/questions?src=get-started.
North Carolina: at this time we can only serve Dominion customers in North Carolina.
The sign-up process
When you click your referral link or start from our homepage, you'll answer a few quick questions and then see an estimate of how many SRECs we expect your system to earn each year. From there:
Create your account — choose a password and agree to our Terms and Conditions.
Validate your email — we'll send a confirmation email; click the link at the very bottom to confirm.
Add your phone number — you can opt in to text-message updates (and you can opt out anytime).
Complete your signup steps — these can vary depending on whether you were referred, your state/market, and other factors. See Sign-Up Steps & Troubleshooting for the forms you may need to sign and how to fix common snags.
Everyone starts on the Market payout option by default. Once your account is set up, you may see additional payout options in your portal if you become eligible — not every customer is. The other options involve a signed agreement, and once you sign, you can't switch to a different option during the contracted term.
Can I switch to another aggregator later? Usually, yes. If you're on the Market option there's no fixed term, and we ask for 30 days' written notice. If you've signed a contract, you're committed to its terms until it expires.
Finishing up — and what happens next
Once you've completed account setup, you'll see "No action required" in green at the top right of your homepage. That covers the steps you took while signing up, and it usually means we can take it from here.
It doesn't cover everything. If something comes up with your registration or your energy reporting, we'll email you, and the banner can still say "No action required". So it's worth reading anything that arrives from us.
From this point, our team will:
Pursue your SREC registration
Mint and transact your SRECs
Send payment to your linked account (or by paper check) — we always email you when a payment has been initiated
If we ever need something from you — for example, re-granting energy data access, linking a new bank account, or resolving a system reporting issue — we'll contact you at the email address on file.
Once you're minting SRECs, your RECmint account shows your production, SRECs and payments, and is where you update your account (new system, email or phone number, 2FA, banking) any time.
